Laughter is what brings communities together. That is the reason we want to make this documentary a reality. When people hear the words "Indian Reservation," they think of alcoholism, drugs, addiction, abuse and suicide. We want to change that. We want to send a message that those shouldn't be the only words you think of when you see us. I, along with fellow Ojibwe comedian from the Leech Lake Indian Reservation Rob Fairbanks (the famous Rez Reporter), will travel half way across the country to visit our fellow Native American comedians while on our way to Hollywood, where we'll take part in a major comedy competition. Win or lose, we're going all in. We are raising $20,000 dollars to pay for the making of a documentary that we believe will be a game changer for comedians from the reservation. We are hiring a film crew consisting of two cameramen and a boom operator to follow us on the road for our 2 week journey to California. They will be with us as we visit the Badlands, Mt. Zion National Park, Wounded Knee and many other places that have stories to tell us as well. We are hiring an editor who will be receiving daily uploads of the footage to piece together while we're on the road! Once we return, we will be meeting with the one and only Charlie Parr, who has incredibly signed on to score the film. Charlie will review the scenes and create music from the heart to help us communicate this story of two Native American comedians who have two weeks - to make it to the top.
Pledge $50 or more and get a copy of the DVD and Charlie's soundtrack. We'll keep you updated as this project progresses. Head over to their Kickstarter page for more details and to contribute: http://kck.st/1eVbLE0
